Firebirds

Over the last week, I have read for about eight hours and read the whole book. Firebirds is an anthology of science fiction and fantasy all in one book. Those are my favorite genres and I found that this book or 'anthology' to fufil its promise of having some of the best stories of its time. My favorite stories were 'The Lady of the Ice Garden' and 'Little Dot'. These stories involve demons, monsters, cats, and mythical creatures.
Little Dot is about a cat that can talk to her human and her human happens to be a wizard. That wizard also happens to be a hopeless animal lover. Over time, Little Dot is joined by six other cats, one of which gets named Big Dot because of her similar apperance to Little Dot and also happens to have six kittens during the story. Little Dots' human starts dating a woman who happens to hate cats. The wizard becomes completely sucumed to his girlfriend and leaves his cats outside. The cats break into his house and ruin all of the clothing and other things that belong to his girlfriend. Big Dot also happens to haver her kittens in the middle of her bed. The girlfriend becomes enraged and demands that the wizard get rid of the cats and drown the newborn kittens, so the wizard sends her away. The girlfriend, now ex-girlfriend, tries to get her revenge by... but I wont give the story away by telling you how, so read the story.
This book was compiled by Sharyn November and has fire in the shape of an eagle on the front. Have fun finding it!

The Host by Stephanie Meyer

As you can probably tell, I like Stephanie Meyer books! I read for approxamately twelve hours this week and finished Breaking Dawn and The Host. I love fantasy and romance and all kinds of science fiction(I think.). The Host is about a race of aliens that come to Earth and take over our bodies to make the world a better place. The aliens can't fight or argue, it's against thier nature, and they never break any rules. They are such a calm and relaxed and trusting race that we humans are very violent in comparison .When Melanie, our almost main character, gets caught and turned into a host, she has a hard time dealing with that and fights against the alien that is controling her body. This results in Wanderer(the alien) to love the people Melanie loves, and fall into her "trap" of joining one of the last colonies of humans and serving as thier devious 'theif' because she is one of the creatures that they steal from. To see what happens, read the book!!!
(I know I say this at the end of all of my blogs, but if I describe the story, I can't give away the ending!)

Stephanie Meyer Book Review

This week I have read all of Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. This took me about ten hours total. I have just started reading The Host, also by Stephanie Meyer, and find it very enjoyable. Stephanie Meyer is a very good writer, but she has a tendancy to use wrong words. What I mean by this is that I could easily think of a word to replace one of hers that would work and sound a lot better than the one that she had.
For example, in Twilight book New Moon, Bella is wondering what Jacob is thinking and is written like this,"I was wondering if he were thinking the same thing that I was." I believe that replacing were in this sentance to was, would sound a whole heap better.
Other than the uncommon wrong word, the whole series or saga has been very entertaining and very 'addicting' as anyone knows. The story line of the books are all similar and pretty predictable, but Meyer keeps us reading with the unexpected twists and turns of the otherwise 'fairy tale' story. To find out if the last book, Breaking Dawn, ends happily or even at all! you need to read the whole saga and learn the entire emotional story. Good luck!!!
