Firebirds

Over the last week, I have read for about eight hours and read the whole book. Firebirds is an anthology of science fiction and fantasy all in one book. Those are my favorite genres and I found that this book or 'anthology' to fufil its promise of having some of the best stories of its time. My favorite stories were 'The Lady of the Ice Garden' and 'Little Dot'. These stories involve demons, monsters, cats, and mythical creatures.
Little Dot is about a cat that can talk to her human and her human happens to be a wizard. That wizard also happens to be a hopeless animal lover. Over time, Little Dot is joined by six other cats, one of which gets named Big Dot because of her similar apperance to Little Dot and also happens to have six kittens during the story. Little Dots' human starts dating a woman who happens to hate cats. The wizard becomes completely sucumed to his girlfriend and leaves his cats outside. The cats break into his house and ruin all of the clothing and other things that belong to his girlfriend. Big Dot also happens to haver her kittens in the middle of her bed. The girlfriend becomes enraged and demands that the wizard get rid of the cats and drown the newborn kittens, so the wizard sends her away. The girlfriend, now ex-girlfriend, tries to get her revenge by... but I wont give the story away by telling you how, so read the story.
This book was compiled by Sharyn November and has fire in the shape of an eagle on the front. Have fun finding it!

The Host by Stephanie Meyer

As you can probably tell, I like Stephanie Meyer books! I read for approxamately twelve hours this week and finished Breaking Dawn and The Host. I love fantasy and romance and all kinds of science fiction(I think.). The Host is about a race of aliens that come to Earth and take over our bodies to make the world a better place. The aliens can't fight or argue, it's against thier nature, and they never break any rules. They are such a calm and relaxed and trusting race that we humans are very violent in comparison .When Melanie, our almost main character, gets caught and turned into a host, she has a hard time dealing with that and fights against the alien that is controling her body. This results in Wanderer(the alien) to love the people Melanie loves, and fall into her "trap" of joining one of the last colonies of humans and serving as thier devious 'theif' because she is one of the creatures that they steal from. To see what happens, read the book!!!
(I know I say this at the end of all of my blogs, but if I describe the story, I can't give away the ending!)

Stephanie Meyer Book Review

This week I have read all of Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. This took me about ten hours total. I have just started reading The Host, also by Stephanie Meyer, and find it very enjoyable. Stephanie Meyer is a very good writer, but she has a tendancy to use wrong words. What I mean by this is that I could easily think of a word to replace one of hers that would work and sound a lot better than the one that she had.
For example, in Twilight book New Moon, Bella is wondering what Jacob is thinking and is written like this,"I was wondering if he were thinking the same thing that I was." I believe that replacing were in this sentance to was, would sound a whole heap better.
Other than the uncommon wrong word, the whole series or saga has been very entertaining and very 'addicting' as anyone knows. The story line of the books are all similar and pretty predictable, but Meyer keeps us reading with the unexpected twists and turns of the otherwise 'fairy tale' story. To find out if the last book, Breaking Dawn, ends happily or even at all! you need to read the whole saga and learn the entire emotional story. Good luck!!!

New Moon

Recently, I have read New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. It is the second book in the Twilight saga and is a very good read. This book is about Isabella Swan and her Truest Love and vampire Edward Cullen. In the first chapter of this book, everything goes well for Bella, but soon her world falls apart. While at her eighteenth birthday party at her boyfriends house, she cuts her finger on one of her gifts and causes one of Edward's brothers to go crazy with the thirst that the Cullen family try to suppress. After this happens, Edward decides to leave Bella so she can stay safe and away from his vampire family. When Edward leaves, Bella dies inside.
After a while, she recovers enough to be around people, she makes a best friend who keeps her sane. His name is Jacob Black. A little later, he starts avoiding Bella and she finds out that Jacob is a werewolf. When they finally accept that each other know the truth and can handle it, Jacob lets Bella know that there is a sadistic vampire around that wants to kill her because of what Edward had done to her True Love the year before. Jacob and his pack of four other giant wolves that protect their families on the land that belongs to their tribe. Through a series of events, including a visit from Edward's sister Alice, Bella runs off to Italy to rescue Edward. To find out what happens ...
Read The Book!!!
(I spent about 10 hours reading all 600 pages of the book this week!)
